Valdespino Moscatel Viejísimo Toneles is a Muscatel wine produced by Bodegas Valdespino in the D.O. Jeréz-Xérès-Sherry following the traditional method of criaderas and soleras.
Bodegas Valdespino has a very remote origin. The first member of the family devoted to wine-growing was a contemporary of King Alfonso X the Wise, in the 13th century. At present, Valdespino belongs to Grupo Estévez Valdespino and is a benchmark in the ageing of Jerez wines, known for their traditional methods in the processes for producing their wines.
Valdespino Moscatel Viejísimo Toneles is made using the traditional Jerez method of soleras and criaderas. It is a wine of unknown age, though it is believed that it may be around 75-100 years old.
