About Uvas Felices Reina de los Deseos
Uvas Felices Reina de los Deseos is a red wine crafted by Comando G in the Sierra de Gredos, Madrid.
Comando G has revitalised several old vineyards of the Garnacha variety. Hence the 'G' in its name, G for Garnacha. The grapes come from old Garnacha vines cultivated with the utmost respect for the land, adhering to biodynamic farming principles. The vineyards are situated at an altitude of 800 metres above sea level, in the mountains of the Sierra de Gredos. They endure a harsh climate that aids in the balanced ripening of the grapes. The result? Exceptionally fresh and elegant wines.
The grapes for Uvas Felices Reina de los Deseos are destemmed before undergoing cold maceration. Fermentation occurs at a controlled temperature, and the ageing process takes place in French oak barrels for 14 months.
Uvas Felices Reina de los Deseos is a wine that epitomises the great expression of the Garnacha variety. Fresh and highly expressive. A marvellous wine of limited production.
2023 | Uvas Felices Reina de los Deseos 2023 is a light-bodied red wine with a smooth profile. On the nose, it reveals aromas of red fruits such as strawberries and cherries, complemented by a subtle hint of spices. On the palate, it is fresh and balanced, with pleasant acidity and soft tannins. Its time in barrel adds a slight complexity that integrates seamlessly with its fruity character. A wine that is easy to enjoy on any occasion. |

2022 |
Reina de los Deseos 2022 is a Burgundian-style red wine, fluid and ethereal, where we can find aromas reminiscent of wild berries, with chalky notes and well-integrated wood. In the mouth it flows subtly, with a pleasant volume and precise acidity. An elegant red wine, with a pleasant length, very accessible to drink.

2017 | It’s been a tough year at Sierra de Gredos but one with great results. The effects of adverse weather has led to low production volume for this vintage. Nighttime frosts on three consecutive days in April affected the growth cycle. During flowering, constant rains caused irregular development of the flower, resulting in the partial loss of production. This was followed by an extreme drought that lasted until the end of the year. Adding to the adverse weather, hailstorms appearing on two days, July 7 and August 28, resulted in production losses of up to 50% in some areas. Regarding the end results for the wines, according to Daniel Landi it has been challenging year, both for the vineyard and for the winery. In order to process what was a difficult vintage, they’ve had to retool the production process, with some excellent results: low production volumes but great wines that are light and refined. As Dani put it, “wines that travel northward, moving away from the Mediterranean character of the vintage.” | |
2016 | This Grenache plot is located near the village of Cadalso de los Vidrios, looking north and at an altitude of 900 metres on white granite soil. The profile of this wine is somewhat more mature than its sister, The Knockout, with an outstanding red fruit acidity. |
