About Tuets Panxu

There are still many farms where cultivation coexists alongside domestic animals. However, what is no longer quite so common a sight is to find one of these beasts roaming the grounds. At Tuets, the farm that the Domingo family owns in Alt Camp (Catalonia), the giant pig Panxu is the king of the house. Intelligent, playful and affectionate, the members of the Domingo family have such appreciation for him that they have even named one of their wines in his honor. In line with his organic and happy nature, producer Albert Domingo presents us with an ull de llebre (Tempranillo in Catalonia) so exquisite and drinkable that you simply can’t get enough. Just as its label advertises, it is synonymous with abundance and joy.

The fruit of the 22 hectares of vineyards owned by this winery, Tuets Panxu is a single varietal that grows at an altitude of between 500 and 600 meters above sea level on predominantly calcareous soils with sandy loam and clay loam plots. These organic grape varieties are cultivated according to biodynamic principles and harvested by hand at the optimum moment of ripeness. Once in the winery the fruit ferments spontaneously with partial carbonic maceration, based on a philosophy of minimal intervention. The wine is then aged in steel tanks on its lees for 8 months, after which it is bottled without additives or added sulfites and without filtering or stabilization.

Tuets Panxu is a demonstration of the most convivial version of the quintessential Spanish grape. A minimal-intervention Tempranillo that is so refined and easy to enjoy, it is both a surprise and an absolute joy. Like a good friend that never lets you down. 

 

2022

Tuets Panxu 2022 is a celebration of freshness and uniqueness. A rejuvenated and juicy Tempranillo that displays an aromatic palette of wild red fruits, pepper, licorice and herbs. On the palate, it reveals delicate tannins, an excellent acidity and moderate alcohol content. Its bright acidity combines with lovely herbaceous and earthy notes, creating an irresistible experience for lovers of natural wines.
