About Trediberri Barbera d'Alba
Family wineries are often named after their founders or owners. But when it comes to three friends who set up a project united by the same passion, the most skillful creativity comes into play. However, while originality tends to be associated with sophistication or complexity, simplicity can stand out for its clarity, elegance and ability to communicate effectively. This is why, in 2007, Nicola Oberto, his father Federico and his friend Vladimiro gave their winery, in the Piedmont village of Berri, the simple name of Trediberri (which means “the three from Berri”). This name perfectly reflects the aim of these three friends driven by the production of top quality Barolos, which are alcoholic and structured, but also very easy and pleasant to drink. Wines that speak of present day Piedmont, but respecting the region’s traditions.
Although at first they attracted attention for their new generation Barolos, their Barbera red also reaches a high standard. Sourced from their own vineyards in the Roero area, Trediberri Barbera d'Alba is a single-variety wine that is organically cultivated without the use of systematic chemical products. The grapes are harvested by hand and, once they reach the winery, they are thoroughly selected to begin vinification in concrete and stainless steel tanks for 12 to 15 days. Malolactic fermentation is then carried out in concrete. Finally, the wine is aged for about 6 months in concrete, steel or fibreglass.
Starting from the premise that the greatest recognition for these three friends is that a bottle is quickly finished, Trediberri Barbera d'Alba is a charming red wine that connects the traditional wisdom of the DOC Barbera d'Alba with the visionary interpretation of this new generation project. A pleasure that is easy to drink.
