About Familia Torres Perpetual

Familia Torres Perpetual is a red wine crafted by the Familia Torres winery in the D.O.Q. Priorat. Familia Torres Perpetual pays tribute to the age-worthy wines of Priorat. It is an intense wine, with the capacity to defy time.
 
Familia Torres Perpetual is a blend primarily composed of the Carignan variety with a small percentage of Grenache. The grapes are sourced from different estates located in the towns of El Lloar and Porrera, featuring old vines aged between 80 and 100 years, planted on steep slate slopes, locally referred to as 'licorella'. These low-yielding vineyards produce fruit of exceptional quality. The grapes undergo maceration for 32 days, followed by fermentation which lasts for 12 days at a controlled temperature of 27°C.

Familia Torres Perpetual is aged for 18 months in new French oak barrels.

Torres Perpetual 2017 is a robust and characterful red wine. Exhibiting a cherry hue with a garnet rim, one encounters an exceptionally complex and diverse bouquet, brimming with nuances. Wild berries, herbs, spices, chocolate, and wax all emerge, seamlessly integrating with floral undertones. On the palate, it is well-structured and flavorsome, displaying vibrancy and energy, with a medium body and finely grained, silky tannins. The palate is greeted with a bright floral essence. It is well-structured and flavorsome. The finish is prolonged and dry.

The taste is a concentrated with sweet and velvety tannins. There are notes of liquorice, caramel and toasted flavours. Intense, elegant and very persistent.

The nose is complex. Roasted flavours, cherry jam, thyme, lavender and a slight citrus notes.
2011 Elegant attack, with a high concentration and velvety tannins. Minty notes are noticed at the end along with traces of liquorice and caramel. An intense, elegant and very long aftertaste.

Intense aromas, especially roasted notes (smoke and cocoa), along with jam (cherry and plum) and a nice background with aromas of aromatic herbs (thyme and eucalyptus).
