About Tenuta Le Colonne Bolgheri Rosso
The concept of "Made in Italy" has evolved into a distinctive trademark that underscores the excellence and tradition of Italian craftsmanship across various industries, including fashion, design, automobiles, furniture, food, and of course, wine. It is a label synonymous with quality, style, and artisanal expertise, serving as a hallmark that has helped establish the Italian production's reputation for excellence on a global scale. Within this distinction, we encounter the wines of Tuscany, a region steeped in viticultural tradition and renowned for producing high-quality wines in red, white, and rosé varieties. Specifically, the area of Bolgheri on the Tuscan coast is famed for its world-class red wines, noted for their robust, full-bodied nature and excellent aging potential. Alejandro Bulgheroni, an Argentine entrepreneur with a deep passion for wine who has owned Tenuta Le Colonne since 2016, has expertly leveraged the intrinsic characteristics of the region. Situated in one of the areas closest to the sea in Bolgheri, his brand has successfully crossed borders with "made in Italy" wines brimming with character and individuality.
Given that it is the winery with vineyards nearest to the Tyrrhenian Sea, its Tenuta Le Colonne Bolgheri Rosso speaks of both sea and land. A blend of international varietals Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc, and Merlot cultivated on sandy and gravel soils at an altitude of 40 meters. The vines are ecologically tended with organic treatments and minimal intervention. In the winery, the selected, destemmed, and crushed grapes undergo spontaneous fermentation with indigenous yeasts in concrete vats for 13 days at a controlled temperature of 28°C. Subsequently, the wine is aged in French oak barrels for 12 months and then rests for 3 months in the bottle before its release to the market.
The result is the Tenuta Le Colonne Bolgheri Rosso, a classic-style blend that embodies the character and personality of the most Mediterranean Tuscany. A red wine from the region that exudes "made in Italy" from every pore.
