About Témide
The son of gypsies from the south of Italy, Luca Bernasconi is an adventure seeker who arrived in Valencia 30 years ago and, in a short period of time, has placed himself among the city’s best gastronomy by managing several successful restaurants. But that’s not all, because as a lover and connoisseur of good wine, he dared to venture into the wine world with the help of his friend Javier Revert, a young winemaker with a passion for his Mediterranean roots. Together, at Javier’s winery, they make a natural wine from the native Malvasía grape variety. Respecting the natural course of the fruit and with minimal intervention, they have succeeded in launching a very expressive wine that, named after his grandmother Témide, is winning over the most exquisite palates.
To do this, they have moved to the town of Javier, in the Valencian municipality of Fontanars dels Alforins, and have focused on some old Malvasía vines that have been planted in a bush-trained shape for more than 40 years. Vines that live alongside the Mediterranean forest and grain fields and provide a pure and high quality grape to make Témide. The grapes are organically cultivated, respecting the natural balance of the terroir and the vine as much as possible, and once the grapes reach optimum ripeness, they are harvested by hand, selecting each cluster. In the winery, the grapes ferment spontaneously with their skins in vats and then the wine is aged in used 500-litre barrels for 3 months.
So, this intrepid seeker of the good life has not only made a place for himself in the most indulgent circles of Mediterranean gastronomy, but also, with Témide, he finds himself among the great champions of the area’s natural wines. A fresh, mineral and easy to drink orange wine that goes with everything.
2020 | Témide 2020 is an orange wine with a subtle nose of ripe white fruit accompanied by spicy and mineral notes. On the palate it is fresh, juicy and easy to drink. A wine with marked acidity, a very fruity mid-palate and a very pleasant saline finish. |
