Five generations have passed since Don Andrés Brugal Montaner founded Brugal in Puerto Plata in 1888. This distillery has now become the largest producer of traditional rum in the Dominican Republic. Their family spirit is not just a marketing ploy. More than 130 years from the day it began, only family members can become a “rum master”. A family recipe handed down through generations combined with their artisan production methods make Brugal rum an exceptional quality and famous around the world.
