About Sommos Varietales Blanco

Sommos Varietales Blanco is a white wine made with the Chardonnay, Gewürztraminer and Pinot Noir varieties by Bodega Sommos in the D.O. Somontano, in Aragón (Spain). 
 
Sommos is known worldwide for its impressive building in the heart of Somontano, in the town of Barbastro. Known as one of the architectural wonders of the winemaking world, the building integrates perfectly into the wine-growing environment and is designed to optimise the entire production process as much as possible. 
 
Sommos Varietales Blanco comes from their own vineyard with soils characterised by a silty loam texture with an abundance of calcium salts and gypsum chunks. The vines are cultivated using traditional agriculture with plant cover management on the ground. The harvest is mechanised and takes place at night. Thanks to the latest generation technology, they are able to harvest when the grapes reach optimum ripeness. 
 
In the winery, the Sommos Varietales Blanco grapes pass over the selection table and are gently pressed. Once each variety separately develops a yeast cap, fermentation takes place at a controlled temperature of 16ºC and then the wine ages in French oak barrels for 4 months. Then the coupage of the three varieties is made.
 
Sommos Varietales Blanco is the most original wine from the Sommos Winery. An unconventional coupage of white and red varieties that reveals the delights of an exceptional pre-Pyrenean landscape.

2019 Sommos Varietales Blanco 2019 is an aromatic white wine with tropical fruit and citrus fragrances, floral notes and sweet spicy touches. On the palate it is smooth, lively and fresh. A very vivacious wine with a well balanced structure. The finish is lingering and elegant.
