Bodegas Roda Sela Tempranillo 2022 exhibits an alluring cherry red hue with a vivid red rim, indicative of its youth and vitality. Upon nosing, this wine reveals an intense fruity aroma, dominated by ripe cherries and hints of red fruits such as strawberries and raspberries, subtly complemented by undertones of dark fruits. The wood is well-integrated, contributing freshness and nuances of aromatic herbs and forest floor earthiness. On the palate, it shows good volume and freshness, with flavors of ripe red fruit and perfectly timed cherries. The tannins are well-structured, and the wine has a long finish, where sensations of ripe and fresh fruits persist. A fluid profile that invites continued enjoyment.

About Bodegas Roda Sela Tempranillo

Sela is a red wine from Rioja prepared by the Roda winery.

The winery is located in the famous La Estación de Haro, a historic enclave in the Rioja Alta where the highest concentration of wineries in the world can be found.

Sela is made mostly with Tempranillo (95%) from vines between 30 and 15 years olf, to which is added a touch of Graciano (3%) and Garnacha (2%).

For the cultivation, sustainable viticulture is followed, limiting fertilisers to a minimum and performing sanitary treatments (pest control) with sulphur and copper, avoiding chemicals, where possible.

For processing alcoholic fermentation and malolactic fermentation takes place spontaneously in French oak vats.

After the fermentation process, the wine is aged for 12 months in French oak barrels.

2021 Bodegas Roda Sela Tempranillo 2021 is a red wine with a pleasant and intense profile of red fruits on the nose, accompanied by very well integrated, practically imperceptible wood and delicious notes of aromatic herbs and undergrowth that add freshness. On the palate, it is full of ripe red fruit, with cherries standing out. A juicy and deliciously long red wine on the palate, with the pleasant strength of youth.

Sela 2018 is an elegantly structured red wine boasting fruity and spiced aromas. On the palate, it is succulent, light, and lively. It exhibits a vibrant acidity and somewhat robust tannins that bode well for its future.
2017

Sela 2017 is an elegantly structured red wine, boasting expressive aromas of red fruit, floral undertones, and delicate hints of spice. On the palate, it presents a refreshing, fruit-forward profile with a sustained finish. This medium-bodied wine features vibrant acidity and a succulent, enjoyable mouthfeel. 

 
2012 Good entry, fresh and tasty. A big and bulky wine, with a touch of cherries and a well-integrated oak. Complex and enjoyable.

Cherry, middle layer with bluish reflections. Clean and bright.

Medium-high, with aromas of red fruits (cherries, blackberries). Balsamic, mineral and spicy background.
2011 On the palate this wine is fresh, tasty, creamy and very elegant. Well integrated wood. Balsamic notes present. Persistent finish.

Lots of fruity aromas in the nose (red fruit, cherries, blackberries). Balsamic notes. An elegant wine.
2009 Good, quite bulky attack with a silky sensation and a very pleasant mid palate in which the same notes of red fruit noticed on the nose are released. It shows a good acidity and soft, well integrated tannins. A nice red wine.

Cherry colour with bluish edges. Clean and bright wine with thin light tears.

Medium intensity aromas in which the very expressive, intense notes of ripe red fruit stand out on a toasted background. After swirling the glass, some balsamic and grassy hints are also noticed.
2008 This wine is pleasant, tasty and fresh. The age of vines, aging and the slight presence of the Graciano variety makes it more fresh and fruity than their siblings but without losing the elegance and complexity of these.

Cherry, intense and brilliant.

This wine is characterized by a large amount of fruit that overlies the wood and aging aromas (toasted and vanilla) and appearing with light balsamic touches that give freshness.
