Ron Viejo de Caldas is an amber-coloured rum with reddish reflections that on the nose offers aromas reminiscent of peaches and almonds accompanied by hints of vanilla, caramel, wood and honey. Flavors reminiscent of orange peel, ginger and other spices can be noted on the palate. A smooth, mature and harmonious rum.

About Ron Viejo de Caldas 3 Years Old Rum

Industria Licorera de Caldas, a Colombian distillery founded in 1926, claims that their product, Ron Viejo de Caldas, is “the rum of those in the know”. What makes it so special? Is it really that big a deal? Check it out and judge for yourself with Ron Viejo de Caldas 3 Años.

The spring water, the wood of the barrels and the altitude at which this rum is produced are the three keys that, after several centuries, this company, located in the Chinchiná river basin (Colombia), has handled to perfection. Surrounded by a humid forest, and at an altitude of between 2,200 and 2,700 metres, Ron Viejo de Caldas 3 Años is produced in a nature reserve. Ramón Badía, a Cuban of Catalan origin, was responsible for creating this liqueur.

Ron Viejo de Caldas 3 Años is made from distilled alcohol (called tafias) which is then aged for three years in Colombian white oak barrels. In particular, this wood comes directly from the nature reserve, which is unique in the world and provides unmistakable touches.
