About Raventós i Blanc de Nit

Raventós i Blanc de Nit Reserva Brut Rosat is a sparkling wine made by Raventós i Blanc, the winery was founded in 1986 and is situated in Sant Sadurní d'Anoia, the centre of the viticulture area in Alt Penedès.

The climate in Alt Penedès is Mediterranean, characterised by gentle winters and warm and dry summers, where thermal variations are not very pronounced thanks to the proximity to the sea.

The Raventós i Blanc vines are encountered between mountain ranges, between Sierra del Litoral in the east, Montserrat in the North and Sierra d'en Compte in the west. La Sierra Litoral protects from the excess moisture in the costal areas. On the other hand, Montserrat and Sierra d'en Compte make barriers for winds and low temperatures from the Pyrenees.

This cava is a coupage of Macabeo, Xarel·lo, Parellada and Monastrell grown in three estates: La Plana La Barbera and El Llac. La Plana is an estate located on clay-loam soils that grows Xarel·lo and Macabeo varieties. La Barbera is found on clay loam soils where they grow Parellada. Finally, El Llac is the estate that grows Monastrell located on the lower terraces of the North West facing hill; Serral.

Raventós i Blanc is harvested by hand and follows an ecological viticulture. As for the production, after a long pressing at a low pressure, there is a static racking at a low temperature. Afterwards, they continue with the first fermentation in stainless steel deposits at a controlled temperature, each variety separately.

Once the ensemble is done, the wine undergoes a second fermentation in the bottle for 15 months in rhyme.
