About Pícaro del Águila Clarete
Pícaro del Águila Clarete is a rosé wine from Ribera del Duero produced by Dominio del Águila in the town of La Aguilera, Burgos.
Dominio del Águila is a winery founded by Jorge Monzón and Isabel Rodero in 2010. Jorge started his oenology studies in Burdeos and continued his professional career in emblematic wineries like Romanée-Conti and Vega Sicilia before ending up at the Arzuaga wineries.
They cultivate 30 hectares of eco-friendly vineyards and the Tempranillo is the main variety planted with others such as Bobal, Garnacha and Albillo on sandy-clay-rocky soil depending on the plot.
Pícaro del Águila Clarete is produced in the traditional way, like they used to make the area´s rosés in the past, with red and white varieties fermenting simultaneously. The main varieties are Tempranillo and Albillo and some of the Bobal and Garnacha varieties are also used to create this wine. They ferment together in French oak barrels where they age for 20 months.
2019 | Pícaro del Águila Clarete 2019 is a sophisticated rosé with a complex bouquet of red fruit, orange, and peach, enhanced by balsamic hints and toasted nuances. On the palate, it is succulent, vibrant, and layered. This wine boasts a pronounced acidity, robust structure, and a subtly saline finish. |

2018 | Pícaro del Águila Clarete 2018 is a sophisticated rosé with intricate aromas of red fruit laced with spicy undertones. On the palate, it is fruit-forward, vibrant, and well-structured. This wine boasts a substantial body without being burdensome and concludes with a subtly saline finish. |
