Palo Túnel is a liqueur that boasts a deep, dark hue, almost black, which heralds the intensity of what lies ahead. On the nose, a burst of aromas of toasted wood, liquorice, and freshly roasted coffee intertwine, creating a warm and enveloping sensation. Upon tasting, its unctuous texture glides smoothly, while the balance between sweetness and bitterness awakens the senses. The alcohol is perfectly integrated, rounding off the herbal notes that ultimately leave a lingering impression and an enduring aftertaste, inviting another sip.
 

About Palo Túnel Liqueur

Since 1898, the company Antonio Nadal has distilled the essence of Mallorca into every drop, and Palo Túnel is one of their most treasured creations. This ancient liqueur, dating back to the late 19th century, embodies the tradition and culture of the Balearic Islands and boasts the distinction of a Protected Geographical Indication. Its origins as a medicinal elixir for treating ailments and fevers make it a beverage rich in history, while its flavour remains as captivating as in its early days.
 
Crafted with cinchona bark and gentian, Mediterranean plants known for their curative and digestive properties, Palo Túnel retains the traditional artisanal process. Due to its tendency to oxidise quickly, alcohol was added to the process, giving rise to what we now know as licor Palo. Its name comes from the stick used by the master distiller to mix the sugars in copper ovens, fuelled by wood, resulting in a delightful roasted caramel, full of intense aromas.
 
The result is a 30° alcohol content liqueur, smooth yet potent, with a complexity of flavours, where the bitterness of the cinchona is balanced by the sweet and smoky touch of roasted caramel. A genuine experience to immerse oneself in Mallorcan traditions, wrapped in intense and silky aromas.
 
This liqueur, besides being an ideal aperitif, is a perfect companion for various occasions. Enjoy it neat with ice or as Mallorca's most typical aperitif, Palo with soda.
