Niepoort Manzanilla Solera

Tasting notes Niepoort Manzanilla Solera
Manzanilla (75 cl.).
Niepoort Manzanilla Solera enlivens the senses with a subtle bouquet of salt and almond undertones, accompanied by delicate bakery notes. On the palate, it is dry with a lively freshness that highlights its delicate yet nuanced character. This wine glides smoothly, merging its complexity with a lightness that invites each subsequent sip. Its body is well-balanced, and its persistently refreshing finish leaves a lasting impression. I would recommend this wine for its ability to offer both delicacy and depth, all wrapped up in an accessible and highly enjoyable experience for those seeking something special.

About Niepoort Manzanilla Solera
When Spain and Portugal come together at the same table, wine doesn't just flow... it is celebrated. And if anyone has mastered the art of raising glasses and building bridges between the two shores of the Iberian Peninsula, it is Dirk Niepoort. A visionary, a nonconformist, and with an unparalleled knack for spotting the extraordinary before anyone else, Dirk possesses that rare talent for creating magic where others see only tradition.
Luis Gutiérrez, correspondent for The Wine Advocate, put it succinctly: "Dirk Niepoort is the driving force of 21st-century Portuguese wine". Yet, his influence extends beyond Portugal. Dirk has been making his mark in Spain for years, with one of the most unforgettable instances occurring in 2008 when he unveiled Navazos Niepoort, the first modern white from Jerez. A wine that broke the mould and paved new paths.
Today, 17 years later, he returns to Sanlúcar de Barrameda (Cádiz) with another dream in hand. This time, alongside one of Andalusia's most beloved and respected houses: Bodegas Barbadillo. Thus, Niepoort Manzanilla Solera is born, a project that blends history, freshness, and camaraderie.
The formula sounds simple, yet it is meticulously crafted: palomino fino, three casks selected with surgical precision, and three years of ageing under a layer of flor. All with a clear vision: to create a manzanilla that is light, elegant, full of character, but without ostentation. One that is savoured with pleasure and remembered with a smile.
Niepoort Manzanilla Solera is a wine that whispers the Atlantic breeze, caresses the palate with salt and almond, and resonates with restrained energy. A wine designed for those who seek emotion in subtlety.
