About Movia Puro Rosé

“When I see wine I feel like I am holding in my hands something that belongs to my soul.” With this as his philosophy, Aleš Kristančič has earned the nickname ‘the Slovenian wine genius’. This winegrower doesn't follow fashions or trends and just works to create what he really feels. On his Movia estate, dating back to the 1700s, he works 22 hectares of the best land located in Goriška Brda, on the border between Slovenia (Brda) and Italy (Collio). This is where he makes pure, original and timeless wines that, connected with nature, convey the honesty of the creator.

Movia Puro Rosé is one of his masterpieces. A sparkling rosé wine made from 32 year old Pinot Noir vines planted on marl and sandstone soils. He cultivates these wines using 100% organic agriculture with biodynamic treatments and following the lunar calendar. The grapes are harvested by hand when they are very ripe. In the winery, alcoholic fermentation begins with native yeasts and maceration takes place in large tanks for 1 day. The wine is then aged for 4 years in oak barrels. No sulphur or other preservatives are used and fermentation finishes in the bottle following the ancient method, followed by a further 24 months in the bottle before disgorging.

Movia Puro Rosé is the sparkling version of Movia’s life philosophy. A sparkling wine that, while others are coming to the end of their life cycle, this one is pure energy.  Fresh, flavoursome and very mineral, this wine will be at its best for the next ten years.

 

2017

Movia Puro Rosé 2017 is a sparkling wine that captivates with its subtle sweetness and a palette of aromas reminiscent of fresh raspberries, succulent red currants, and blood oranges. Pomegranate notes interweave with hints of vanilla and almonds, while a whisper of butter and Mediterranean herbs adds complexity. On the palate, its creamy texture envelops the taste buds, delivering a finish that lingers with elegance and finesse.
2013

Movia Puro Rosé 2013 is a light pink creamy sparkling wine. On the nose there are red fruits, notes of fresh herbs and touches of balsamic, toast and yeast. On the palate it is dry, complex and smooth. A wine with lots of tiny, lively bubbles, biting acidity with good tannic grip and a very seductive mineral finish.
