About Matarromera Blanco Fermentado en Barrica
Matarromera Blanco Fermentado en Barrica is a white wine produced by the winery Bodega Matarromera in Valbuena de Duero (Valladolid), D.O.Ribera del Duero.
Bodega Matarromera was created in 1988, when Carlos Moro decided to build his own winery in Valbuena de Duero, in the heart of D.O. Ribera del Duero.
In this same area, called the "golden mile" Bodega Matarromera has more than 200 hectares of their own vineyard, with vines of different ages, mainly cultivating the variety of the region, the Tempranillo or Tinto Fino. They have different farms to make their single-vineyard wines, apart from their classical wines, qualified in the D.O. as Crianza, Reserva and Gran Reserva.
Bodega Matarromera's wine warehouses are semi-buried in the north hillside of the Duero Valley, where more than 2,000 oak barrels rest for the ageing of their wines. They also have state-of-the-art technology, without leaving behind the traditional know-how of the area.
Matarromera Blanco Fermentado en Barrica is a wine made from Verdejo, from the farm Finca Las Piedras, located at 750 metres of altitude in the municipality of Valdestillas. This farm was planted in 2006 on loamy-sandy soils.
Once the grapes are harvested, the fermentation begins in stainless steel deposits at a controlled temperature,16ºC, for 10 to 14 days. This wine is aged for 6 months in oak barrels. Before it is launched on the market, it is left to stand in the bottle for a minimum of 6 months.
Matarromera Blanco Fermentado en Barrica is a creamy, fresh wine with volume. The aromas of tropical fruit stand out, softened by the elegant notes of the ageing process.
2021 | Matarromera Blanco Fermentado en Barrica 2021 is an intense, expressive, and highly culinary white wine, unveiling aromas of tropical fruits, floral nuances, and citrus undertones that contribute to its freshness. The palate is greeted with a silky and robust texture. This is a highly sophisticated, profound, and flavorful white wine, boasting an outstanding aging potential. |
