About Martín Códax Organistrum

Martín Codax Organistrum is a white wine from the D.O. Rías Baixas made by Martín Codax. This wine is named after this unique instrument (Organistrum) that needs to be played by two people. Only two replicas exist now and one of them is used by the Grupo de Música Antiga Martín Códax in their performances.

This wine has been made with a selection of grapes from southeast facing vineyards. It's partially made in the barrel.
After the fermentation, the wine ages for four months in Allier French oak barels. During the first month and a half the battonage technique is applied. Once both fermentations finish, it is kept in stainless steel deposits for 8 months to achieve a good integration.

The winery took the name of a famous troubadour from Galicia, Martín Códax whose songs are some of the oldest in the entire Galician-Portuguese language.
