About Emilio Moro Malleolus de Valderramiro

Emilio Moro Malleolus de Valderramiro is a splendid wine crafted within the DO. Ribera del Duero by the esteemed bodega Emilio Moro.

The Emilio Moro winery embodies the legacy of a family devoted to winemaking for over half a century. The first generation dedicated themselves to the land, the second instilled their expertise into the third, and this latter, alongside the fourth generation, is establishing a brand of international repute.

It is a single-varietal wine made from the Tinto Fino grape, sourced from the Pago de Valderramiro, a vineyard of nearly century-old vines that serves as a genetic reservoir for the winery.

Pago de Valderramiro is the oldest vineyard of the winery, planted on clay soil with some limestone areas. This soil imparts strength and aromatic complexity thanks to the clay, and elegance due to the limestone.


Emilio Moro Malleolus de Valderramiro undergoes a maceration process lasting 26 days in 5,000-litre tanks. It undergoes malolactic fermentation in American oak barrels. The ageing process extends to 18 months in new French oak barrels.

2021

Emilio Moro Malleolus de Valderramiro 2021 is a wine that ignites passion for red wine. Visually, it dazzles with its deep garnet hue. On the nose, it offers a complex bouquet with black plums and ripe blackberries interwoven with subtle spicy notes, creating an irresistible fragrance. On the palate, it is powerful and enveloping with a creamy texture that caresses the palate, releasing intense flavours of ripe dark fruits and a well-integrated hint of oak. This wine is distinguished by its persistent finish that leaves a lasting impression. The 2021 vintage is characterised by favourable weather, bestowing exceptional quality to its grapes.
2020

Malleolus de Valderramiro 2020 is a very expressive red wine with aromas reminiscent of black fruits on the nose, with a subtle liquorice profile. The palate reaffirms its fruity intensity accompanied by balsamic and spicy notes from its aging, where it reveals a pleasant balance between creaminess and finesse. A mature, rounded and elegant red wine.
2019 Malleolus de Valderramiro 2019 is a red wine from a great vintage that has resulted in intense but very fruity wines, with a perfect level of maturity. The nose quickly reveals its power and expressiveness with fruit as the protagonist adorned with liquorice notes and nuances of dairy and cocoa. On the palate it reaffirms its maturity and expresses itself as meaty, powerful and well-structured. A great red wine, with noticeable, but sweet, elegant, long and persistent tannins.

The palate is sweet, silky and balanced. Wonderful polished tannins, great quality.

Ripe cherry red, very intense.

The nose is intense. There is a role of black fruits, blackberry, and currants. Some floral notes with a pronounced minerality and toasted oak memories.
2008 Warming and appetising on the palate, with a balanced acidity and high quality tannins.

Very intense cherry red colour.

Elegant floral notes are accompanied by liquorice, blackberries and redcurrents. Woody notes from its ageing are noticed.
2007 In the mouth, we found a large load of ripe fruit. It is fleshy, heavy, with volume and silky. Creamy tannins well integrated. Aftertaste with sensations of cocoa and berries. Final long and permanent.

Elegant cherry color, intense, clear and bright.

Intense and complex aroma. Lots of ripe fruit (mostly black) and concentrated. Balsamic notes that appear along with notes of undergrowth and herbs. Hints of toast.
