About Los Confines de Prieto Pariente

Los Confines de Prieto Pariente is a Garnacha variety red wine made as a Castilla y León table wine by Bodegas Prieto Pariente in Valladolid, Spain.

The grapes used to make Los Confines de Prieto Pariente come from two vineyards of old Garnacha vines, the first in La Sierra de Gredos, in the Cebreros region sitting at 1005 metres above sea level in slate soils, which provides a minerality that becomes meaty in the wine; and the second, in the San Bartolomé de Pinares area, sitting at 1059 metres above sea level in vineyards that feature granite, which provides finesse.

Altitude plays an important part in each area because it helps to create wines with a balanced acidity that, combined with all of the above, makes Los Confines de Prieto Pariente a complex and balanced wine, with freshness and elegance.

To make Los Confines de Prieto Pariente, the clusters undergo spontaneous alcoholic and malolactic fermentation in stainless steel tanks at a controlled temperature. The wine ages for 10 months in 500-litre used French oak barrels.

Bodegas Prieto Pariente is the personal project of siblings Ignacio and Martina Prieto Pariente. They work to produce wines that come from the unique vineyards of Castilla y León and that are faithful representatives of the landscape as well as expressing delicacy, elegance and freshness.

2022 Los Confines de Prieto Pariente 2022 is a red wine that captivates with its brilliant ruby hue. On the nose, it presents a parade of fruity aromas dominated by cherries and pomegranate skin, complemented by notes of liquorice and a subtle hint of orange peel. 2016 Los Confines de Prieto Pariente 2016 is a red wine that reveals its subtle mineral background on the nose, accompanied by notes of candied fruits, toast and leather. On the palate it presents a balanced acidity with silky tannins. It has an agile mid-palate with a persistent finish and aftertaste.
