About Les Cousins L'Antagonique
Les Cousins L'Antagonique is a white wine from the D.O Priorat produced by Les Cousins Marc & Adrià. This is a white wine made from red grapes, the varieties are Grenache (60%), Cariñena (30%), Grenache Blanc, Macabeo, Trepat and Escanyavella (10%).
Les Cousins Marc & Adrià is a winery that was founded by the desire of Marc and Adriá, two cousins that grew up on vineyards and have long since belonged to other projects such as Mas Martinet or Cims de Porrera.
The grapes originate from vines located from the town Porrera and its surrounding areas.
The climate is predominantly Mediterranean, moderate temperatures. The rains are very rare and are usually concentrated during the autumn months.
In Porrera, there is a wind named the "Garbinada", it originates from the sea bringing in humidity which delays the ripening period of the grapes.
After the normal harvest processes, the grapes for Les Cousins L'Antagonique are transported swiftly to the winery.
The must is fermented in stainless steel tanks, and before being bottled, the wine is aged for 4 months in used French oak barrels.
