Laurent Perrier Brut L.P.
Champagne Brut. 36 months in bottle.
Laurent Perrier Brut L.P. is a dry champagne (< 12 g/L). On the nose it is delicate with notes of citrus and white fruits. On the palate it is round and expressive, with a good balance of flavours that evolve towards the fruit. Long and persistent finish.
About Laurent Perrier Brut L.P.
Laurent Perrier, the fifth and latest generation of this family, decided to take the plunge in 2007 and start his own brand. There was something logical and expected about this after so many years working the 4.50 hectares of family vineyards in the Marne Valley in Champagne (northeastern France).
But something like this has to be carefully thought through. Laurent Perrier, who is also a member of the Groupe des Jeunes Vignerons de la Champagne, an organisation representing the youngest winegrowers of the A.O.C. Champagne, opted for an integrated viticulture, where agrochemical products are combined with traditional methods in a controlled manner. In his case, ploughing and the work in the vineyards is carried out in the traditional way using horses. This allows the vines to grow in looser soils (not so compact), where water circulates and the roots can reach greater depth (making it possible to survive the summer using the soil’s water reserves).
Taking into account these cultivation techniques, time is a key factor in producing quality grapes that can be made into exquisite champagnes, like Laurent Perrier Brut L.P.
This sparkling wine is made using the traditional method with grapes selected from their own vineyards. Following a second fermentation in the bottle and aging on the lees, Laurent Perrier Brut L.P. ages for a minimum of 3 years in the cellars, where it develops into a champagne that is gaining popularity day by day, putting the Perrier family name on everyone’s lips.
