When a company has been producing high quality sparkling wines for six generations, there is a need for innovation and diversity to stay at the top. Thankfully, Roc and Leo Gramano, the two youngest members of their winemaking family are more than prepared for this, despite their youth. Roc is an oenologist who has collaborated with different wineries around the world and Leo is an industrial engineer who has worked as a consultant in business intelligence. Together they set up L'Enclòs de Peralba, their most personal project where they focus on trends, sustainability and ecology with the sole objective of enriching the Penedès terroir in Catalonia.
One example of their work is L'Enclòs de Peralba Pét-Nat, a sparkling wine made using the ancient method and the native Malvasía de Sitges variety. This is the perfect grape for making sparkling wines thanks to its acidity and low pH and through organic and biodynamic agriculture, all its intrinsic qualities are maintained. In the winery, the wine is made by hand with a single fermentation process that begins in a stainless steel tank with native yeasts and ends in the bottle with a metal cap, which traps the carbon dioxide.
L'Enclòs de Peralba Pét-Nat is a sparkling wine with a low number of bubbles, a moderate alcohol content and made through minimal intervention. As the French call it, a very small-production pétillant naturel that has no greater aim than to provide immediate enjoyment, with excellent value for money.
L'Enclòs de Peralba Pét-Nat 2020 is a fruity sparkling wine with rich citrus aromas, notes of white fruit and hints of lavender. The palate has an addictive freshness with lively acidity and sparkling bubbles.
