This region, straddling Vienna and Hungary, is known for its warm climate, strong winds, and soils composed of clay, sand, and gravel, giving rise to wines with a strong and distinct character and identity. The weissburgunder grape variety — known in other countries as pinot blanc in France or pinot bianco in Italy — has proven to adapt wonderfully to this terroir. In particular, this white variety is gradually gaining prominence in German-speaking countries, replacing riesling in warmer areas such as where Judith works.
