About Jean-Yves Péron vers La Maison Rouge Rosé
Organic, biodynamic, natural, vegan... These labels are becoming a more and more common sight on our shelves and gaining more enthusiasts in the world of wine. However, not everyone sees the need to certify their vineyards with labels. It is clear to Jean-Yves Péron that the wine speaks for itself and, although he uses completely ecological, organic and biodynamic methods on his 2-hectare estate in the village of Chevaline, in Savoie (France), his wines have not been through any kind of audit or specific examination. They do their own thing.
His Jean-Yves Péron vers La Maison Rouge Rosé is a rosé wine from micro-plots lying at an altitude of 350 and 550 metres. These are old vines of the Mondeuse and Gamay varieties planted on clay-limestone and shale-covered limestone soils and cultivated without using any chemical products and only organic treatments. When the grapes reach optimum ripeness, they are harvested manually and taken straight to the winery. The grapes macerate for no more than 5 days and ferment spontaneously with native yeasts. The wine then spends a year in used oak barrels with its lees.
The result is Jean-Yves Péron vers La Maison Rouge Rosé, a natural high-altitude rosé wine born in the Alps that expresses itself without needing any labels.
2020 | Jean-Yves Péron vers La Maison Rouge Rosé 2020 is a fruity rosé wine with aromas of red strawberries, citrus notes and herbal hints. On the palate it is fresh, sweet and intense. A wine with a vibrant entrance, pleasant mid-palate and refreshing finish. |
