About Izadi Crianza

Izadi Crianza is a red wine from the D.O La Rioja produced by Bodegas Izadi, which belongs to Grupo Artevino. The wine is a monovarietal of Tempranillo, the grape of excellence for the region.

The grapes used to produce Izadi Crianza originate from 178ha, where 70ha are owned by the winery, these are old vines, aged at around 45 years old.

The lands are triangular shaped, which is represented on the label,  formed by the towns of Villabuena, Samaniego and Ábalos.

The vines grow in calcareous-clay soils located on slopes. The climate in La Rioja is Atlantic, although with certain Mediterranean influences.

The harvest is performed manually, taking the utmost care to transport the grapes. Once in the winery, the grapes for Izadi Crianza are destemmed and undergo a gentle pressing.
The must is then fermented alcoholically and malolactically in stainless steel vats.

The last stage before being bottled, Izadi Crianza is aged for 16 months in French and American oak barrels.

2019 Izadi Crianza 2019 is a very expressive red wine that on the nose offers aromas reminiscent of red fruits accompanied by a touch of liquorice, spicy notes, cedar and smoke. On the palate it reaffirms the fruit and is elegant and balanced. A versatile, silky and pleasant red wine.
2017

Izadi Crianza 2017 is a supple red wine exuding profound aromas of red berries, hints of licorice, and a subtle woody backdrop. On the palate, it is succulent, harmonious, and impeccably balanced. It reveals delectable ripe fruit, accompanied by delicate tannins and a fruity finish nuanced with spicy and balsamic undertones.
2015 Izadi Crianza 2015 is a juicy wine with a certain degree of concentration. It is a modern Crianza with a extra point of ripening and extraction. As a result, we have a wine with prevailing aromas of black fruit, spices and balsamic notes, very pleasant in the mouth.
2012 Elegant and balanced. Long aftertaste, fruity and floral reminiscences.

Intense ruby red, medium robe with garnet undertones.

2011 On the palate the wine is powerful and we can appreciate the ripe fruit notes. Good acidity.

Intense cherry colour, garnet edge.

On the nose it is very powerful with a protagonist of ripe fruit and fine cocoa.
2010 In the mouth, it is an elegant and balanced wine with a long aftertaste and fruity and floral reminiscences.

High aromatic intensity that is well balanced with red fruits, liquorice and spices combined with aromas of cedar and smoked hints.

2007 In the mouth, we find an elegant and balanced Spanish wine with a silky and pleasant mid palate full of notes of fruit. It shows a good acidity and soft ripe tannins. Long finish with fruity and floral aftertaste.

Ruby red colour and medium robe. Clean and bright, with beautiful, dense and unctuous tears.

In the nose, this red wine shows a high aromatic intensity with a good balance of the notes of red fruit, liquorice and spices. All of them are combined with smoked and cedar aromas provided during the ageing.
