Did you know this gin was crafted with ships and gunpowder in mind? In 1863, the Hayman family began supplying their Royal Dock Navy Strength Gin to the British Admiralty, a gin stored alongside gunpowder, so potent that its 57% ABV — the traditional Proof — served a purpose: if the gunpowder got wet with it, it could still ignite! With juniper, citrus, and a hint of coriander in a bright and vigorous balance, a robust and characterful spirit was born, capable of withstanding the challenges of the sea and maintaining its flavour in the most complex cocktails.
 
The Hayman’s distillery, the last of the original London distilling families, has kept the tradition alive since 1863. Their copper stills — Marjorie, Karin, and Miranda — replicate the original process, ensuring an intense, balanced, and smooth spirit. Each bottle is a testament to five generations of passion, experimentation, and commitment to the authenticity of London gin.
