About Hacienda López de Haro Crianza

Hacienda López de Haro Crianza is a red wine from the DOCa. Rioja produced by Bodega Hacienda López de Haro, a winery that is part of the Vintae Group, located on the slopes of San Vicente de la Sonsierra. The climate in this region is a moderated continental type, influenced by the Cantabrian Sea.

Hacienda López de Haro Crianza has garnered numerous accolades from Robert Parker's team in Spain. According to Neil Martin, it is "a contemporary classic," and for Luis Gutiérrez, "at this level of quality, this wine is laughably priced."

This wine is a blend of tempranillo, garnacha tinta, and graciano sourced from the winery's own old vineyards planted at altitudes of 380-500 metres above sea level.
Regarding its production, fermentation is conducted at a controlled temperature of 28°C followed by a maceration period lasting two weeks.

Finally, the wine undergoes aging for at least one year in French oak and American oak barrels, and then it rests in the bottle for an additional year.

On the palate, it's silky, with mature tannins that harmoniously accompany its fruity character. A tasty red wine, with a long and persistent finish, very approachable.
2019 The Hacienda López de Haro Crianza is a red wine characterised by a bouquet dominated by scents of ripe red fruits, complemented by nuances of licorice and coffee, along with balsamic hints and the sweet spice of vanilla. On the palate, it glides with delectable smoothness. This red wine features sweet, velvety, and mature tannins, making it exceptionally approachable and enjoyable to drink.
2018

Hacienda López de Haro Crianza 2018 is a smooth red wine with complex aromas of ripe red fruit, hints of sweet spice and balsamic touches. On the palate, it’s agreeable, fresh and elegant. A wine with a good structure, velvety tannins and a very tasty enveloping sensation. The finish is lingering and persistent.
2017

Hacienda López de Haro Crianza 2017 is a supple red wine brimming with aromas of ripe red fruits, nuanced with spicy hints and balsamic undertones. On the palate, it is smooth, approachable, and encompassing. An effortlessly drinkable wine with soft tannins and a prolonged finish.
2015 Hacienda López de Haro Crianza 2015 is a medium bodied red wine where the aromas of the barrel prevail over the fruitiness. A wine with a spicy and medium-bodied character.
2012

In the mouth it is pleasant and easy to drink. It has good acidity and a lingering finish.



Cherry colour with garnet rim. Middle layer.



The nose is frank, with a good intensity. There are notes of aging together with black cherries and fruit, peppers and violet.
2011 Delightful entry, marked by pleasing acidity and a notable persistence on the palate. Eminently quaffable, this wine is universally approachable and affordable – a consistently reliable choice. Heartily endorsed.

Displays a cherry-red hue of medium depth with a garnet rim, though not overly lustrous.

Exhibits robust intensity; the quintessential nuances of Riojan crianzas are immediately evident. Black cherry fruit, peppery spices, violets, and toasted notes all emerge – a forthright and expressive bouquet.
2009 In the mouth, as in the previous vintage, this wine is medium-bodied, fresh and direct. It shows a good acidity and a moderate and pleasant tanicity. Quite a long finish with toasted and spicy hints at retro-olfaction.  A good Spanish wine within its price range.

Ruby red colour with maroon edges. Clean and very bright.

This new vintage is more aromatic. It stands out for the notes of ripe red fruit, its light spicy aromas and the nice toasted and smoked nuances provided during its ageing in the barrel.
2008 In the mouth this wine is direct, fresh and medium-bodied, with a good acidity and moderate, enjoyable tannins. Medium-length finish with toasted nuances and spices felt at retro-olfaction. A very good red wine in its price bracket.

Pretty ruby red colour with a maroon rim. Clean and very bright.

This nose doesn't have very many nuances, but the nuances that are there are very well defined. Black fruit appears, well balanced with toasted and earthy notes.
