About Hacienda López de Haro Classica Gran Reserva Rosado
It requires the perfect conditions in the terroir, a spectacular climate and the best understanding between grower and vine. The result is a great vintage. And they are all part of the Classica Hacienda López de Haro range. This collection is home to wines that mark a before and after. The kind you know will not appear again for many years. And the Viura and Garnacha coupage made by Hacienda López de Haro Classica Gran Reserva Rosado is one of these.
Hacienda López de Haro Classica Gran Reserva Rosado is born in the clay-ferrous soils of the Alto Najerilla (right in the foothills of the Sierra de la Demanda), in the D.O. Ca. La Rioja. The vines grow in this north-facing enclave of La Rioja Alta, achieving their freshest and most acidic version. Here, in the westernmost part of the denomination, the Atlantic climate is predominant, with mild temperatures and very moderate rainfall.
Hacienda López de Haro Classica Gran Reserva Rosado is harvested and taken to the winery, where the berries and grape clusters are processed and broken up. The must and skins are macerated for 24 to 48 hours at low temperature (to prevent the native yeasts from starting fermentation). This will not happen until this tank is bled (this means that the grape juice is produced naturally, without exerting any kind of pressure), creating a very bright pink must. This will then ferment in stainless steel tanks for about 20 days. Finally, Hacienda López de Haro Classica Gran Reserva Rosado will spend about four years in oak barrels (mostly first use), made in France and Eastern Europe.
Great things in life are not to be missed. And definitely not great vintages! Hacienda López de Haro Classica Gran Reserva Rosado is one of them. You surely won’t want to miss out?
