Guelbenzu Vierlas

Tasting notes Guelbenzu Vierlas 2020
Red wine Aged in wood. 6 months in French and American oak barrels.
Guelbenzu Vierlas 2020 is a youthful red wine that unfurls a spectrum of aromas with black fruits taking centre stage, complemented by floral undertones and a delicate hint of cedar. On the palate, it reveals itself as highly expressive, preserving the quintessential fruity essence that defines it. Its progression is robust, with balsamic and toasted nuances emerging. This is a full-bodied red wine, poised to become the quintessential companion for those in pursuit of an unadulterated fruit expression within an uncomplicated red.

About Guelbenzu Vierlas
Guelbenzu Vierlas is a red wine blend of Merlot and Syrah varieties produced by Bodegas Guelbenzu as the table wine, Ribera del Queiles, in Zaragoza, Spain.
The grapes used to make Guelbenzu Vierlas come from the La Lombana estate in Vierlas, which has soils composed of gravel and sand and where vines with an average age of 20 years grow. The bunches ferment for about 12 days in stainless steel tanks under controlled temperatures and the resulting wine is aged for six months in barrels, where 30% are French oak and 70% American oak.
Thanks to Bodegas Guelbenzu, the initiative to create the table wine denomination for Tierra Ribera del Queiles, started in 2003, was consolidated. Guelbenzu Vierlas offers us the perfect introduction to wines which come into being south of the Ebro River, between Aragón, Navarra and Rioja, a 22-kilometer stretch of land caressed by the Cierzo winds which offers wines with body, character and ageing capacity.
