About GR-171

When you enter a Gran Recorrido (GR) trail, that is, a long-distance trail that is marked and designed for extensive and varied routes on foot, horseback or bicycle, you have the opportunity to enjoy nature, see historical sites and discover breathtaking landscapes. With this same intention, Casa Gran del Siurana, a winery created by the Peralada Group in 2000 in Bellmunt del Priorat (Catalonia), produces wines that show the character and personality of the area. Under the GR brand, each of the wines in this range introduces you to an idyllic setting with a long-established winemaking history.

In the case of GR-171, a white wine from the Terra Alta DO is made with the garnacha blanca variety, the star variety of the area. Traditionally grown grape varieties that are at their best thanks to a warm, dry climate. In the winery, the grapes are selected, destemmed and gently pressed. The resulting must is fermented in stainless steel and concrete tanks with native yeasts at a controlled temperature. Finally, the wine remains on the lees in these same tanks to achieve body, fullness and complexity.

As shown on the label of the bottle, a small map where the GR-171 trail passes through, this wine is a reflection of the beautiful natural landscapes through which it passes. A complex, fresh and pleasant single varietal that will take you on a tour of Terra Alta without leaving home.

2022

GR-171 2022 is a creamy white wine with aromas of white fruit accompanied by notes of Mediterranean herbs. On the palate it is balanced, fresh and enveloping. A wine with an unctuous mid-palate and a long and pleasant finish.
