Gorka Izagirre G22

Gorka Izagirre G22 is a white wine of the native variety Hondarrabi Zuri Zerratie produced by Txacolí Gorka Izagirre in the D.O. Bizkaiko Txakolina.

Gorka Izagirre is a family winery that was founded in the 1990s by several producers with the intention of revitalising the area in terms of winegrowing. At present they have 40 hectares of vineyards owned by 25 wine growers spread across 6 municipalities of the Basque Country. Located in Larrabetzu (Vizcaya), their main objective is to raise appreciation for the native varieties of the area such as Hondarrabi Zuri Zerratia; a work that began in the vineyard and continues in the cellar.

The Hondarrabi Zuri Zerratia variety with which Gorka Izagirre G22 wine is made comes from 15-year-old vineyards. Vineyards with steep slopes facing the morning sun and influenced by the Atlantic climate. The grapes are harvested by hand and placed into 15 kg boxes.

In the cellar, once the grape has been pressed and racked, the purest part of the Gorka Izagirre G22 must is fermented at 14ºC in stainless steel tanks. It then undergoes ageing on lees for 8 months in stainless steel tanks.
