About Georg Breuer Estate Rüdesheim Riesling
Georg Breuer Estate Rüdesheim Riesling is a dry, white, single-variety Riesling wine, made by the Georg Breuer Estate winery in Rheingau, Germany.
The estate where the Georg Breuer Estate winery was established dates back to 1880 and has been owned by the Breuer family since the early 20th century. They have 34 hectares of vineyards located in the best parts of Rüdesheim and Rauenthal, with 62% of them sitting on steep slopes.
The grapes used to make Georg Breuer Estate Rüdesheim Riesling come from vineyards in Rüdesheim with mostly quartzite, slate and gravel soils. The steep slopes that the vineyards lie on are south-facing and protected from the cold winds of the north by the Taunus mountains, which provides ideal conditions for the grapes to ripen.
The aim of the Georg Breuer Estate winery is to produce wines that reveal the specific characteristics of their origin, so the way the plots were looked after was changed in favour of a nature-oriented viticulture, which has helped them to better understand the vineyards and harvest grapes that carry the flavours of their origins.
