About Valduero Blanco
Valduero Blanco is a white wine made with the Albillo variety produced by Bodegas Valduero in the D.O. Ribera del Duero (Castilla y León).
Valduero, one of the first wineries founded in the D.O. Ribera de Duero, is a family project that started out in 1984 with Gregorio García Álvarez and continues today through his daughters. Located in the town of Gumiel de Mercado (Burgos), its wines stand out for being single-variety, high profile and with the characteristics of one of the best-known Spanish wine regions in the world.
Albillo is a white grape variety that is perfect for the climate and the Ribera de Duero terroir. Valduero Blanco comes from low-yield 12-year-old strains. In the vineyards, the traditional Gobelet vine training system is used, there is no irrigation and no use of chemical fertilisers. The grapes are harvested by hand and placed in 14 kg boxes.
Once the Valduero Blanco grapes reach the winery they are cooled for 12 hours, pressed and the must is fermented at a controlled temperature of between 19 and 20ºC in stainless steel tanks for a minimum of 14 days. It is bottled without clarifying, stabilising or filtering.
Valduero Blanco is a white wine made with the native Albillo grape variety in the heart of Ribera de Duero.
