About Enate Chardonnay Barrica
Enate Barrel Chardonnay is a white wine made by the Enate winery in Salas Altas (Huesca). D.O. Somontano
Enate is a winery founded in 1991 that has quickly become a reference in the Spanish wine industry. Defining itself as a wine cellar of our time, where a passion for tradition coexists with today's modern techniques, Enate offers a wide range of wines that range from typical crianza and reservas to monovarietal reds and whites.
The winery’s vineyard of approximately 500 hectares is distributed throughout the municipalities of Salas Altas, Salas Bajas, Cregenzán and Basbastro. Located at an altitude of approximately 600 metres on very fertile limestone terrain. The climate in this area is continental, the temperatures are very cold in winter and hot in the summers.
Since its beginnings Enate has always enjoyed marrying wine with art, so much so that in 1992 it began to collect national and international contemporary art. Each wine bottle reproduces on its label the work of a well-known artist, created deliberately for the winery.
Enate Barrel Chardonnay is a wine made from Chardonnay grapes grown in our own vineyards.
The harvest must be done at night, and upon arrival to the winery the grape is stemmed and placed in a pneumatic press where it is gently pressed. The solid waste is removed with static débourbage at 8°C and the must is fermented in new French oak barrels, where it will remain with its fine lees for six months, undergoing bâtonnage every 15 days. Before the wine is bottled it is clarified, stabilised and filtered.
