Elyssia Gran Cuvée is a creamy sparkling wine with aromas of ripe yellow fruit, notes of white flowers and hints of honey. On the palate it is smooth, velvety and flavoursome. A cava with a good entry, integrated acidity and a long finish.

About Elyssia Gran Cuvée

Elyssia Gran Cuvée is a sparkling wine made by the Freixenet house with the Chardonnay, Macabeo and Pinot Noir varieties in the D.O. Cava, Catalonia.

One of the oldest and best known wineries lying in the heart of the D.O. Cava, Freixenet, has a very wide range of products. They have been making sparkling wines according to the traditional method for over 150 years, wines that are now well known all around the world.  

Elyssia Gran Cuvée comes from selected vineyards spread throughout the Penedés within the D.O. Cava. The vines are cultivated using traditional agriculture and the harvest is carried out at the optimum point of ripeness.

Each of the Elyssia Gran Cuvée varieties is vinified separately. All three varieties, including the red Pinot Noir, ferment without skin-contact maceration. Once the colourless base wine has been made, the three wines are blended. The wine is then bottled to undergo its second fermentation, with added yeasts and sugar and, in the silence of the cellars, it lies stacked for a minimum of 18 months. Finally, as part of the disgorging process, a small amount of sugar (9 grams per litre) is added.

Elyssia Gran Cuvée is a fine, harmonious and elegant sparkling wine. An essential cava if you want to experience the premium world of Freixenet.
