About Castell d'Encús Ekam

Castell d'Encús Ekam is a white wine from the D.O. Costers de Segre, crafted by the winery Castell d'Encús. This winery is situated in the municipality of Talarn (Lleida).

Castell d'Encús Ekam is the result of the expertise of the winemaker Raül Bobet, the creator of the renowned Priorat red wine Ferrer Bobet.

Castell d'Encús Ekam is produced using Riesling and Albariño grape varieties. The grapes are sourced from vineyards planted at an altitude of between 850 and 1000 metres on loamy-calcareous soils with low organic matter content.

The grapes are harvested by hand and transported to the winery in 10kg boxes.
For its production, a traditional vinification process is employed, with the wine undergoing fermentation in 25Hl vats at low temperatures.

2022

Castell d'Encús Ekam 2022 exhibits an exceedingly pale and almost transparent hue. On the nose, it is distinguished by its subtle aromas of peach, a result of the small proportion of grapes affected by botrytis. On the palate, it is light and elegant, with a refreshing acidity that balances its sweetness. The texture is dry and mineral, owing to the limestone soils, which impart a distinctive character. A wine that embodies the freshness and purity of its grapes.

Ekam 2020 is a robust white wine. On the nose, it exhibits a complex bouquet with hints of grapefruit, almond blossom, and delicate honey. The palate is lively and enduring, with prominent peach notes. It concludes with a prolonged finish, where nuances of syrup, lychee, and apricot emerge.
2019 Ekam 2019 is a finely contoured white wine that exudes delightful aromas of yellow fruits and hints of white blossoms on the nose. On the palate, it is supple, lively, and enduring. This wine boasts an excellent attack, a zesty acidity, and an elongated finish with nuances of apricot.
2018 Ekam 2018 is a white wine delineated by profound citrus aromas and hints of fresh blossoms. On the palate, it is supple, profound, and graceful. It exhibits a splendid acidity, a rich texture, and an enduring, delightful aftertaste.
2017 Ekam 2017 is a fresh and aromatic white wine. This vintage once again displays all the fruity character, with elegance and freshness on the nose and intensity and fluidity on the palate.
2014 Light and nice entrance. Sensations of fresh fruit with a dense and enveloping journey. Good acidity. Long and rounded end.

2011 In the mouth, it is lively. This dense wine coats the palate with nice and fresh fruity sensations. It has a high but integrated acidity, fresh and aromatic, which provides the wine with depth. Long finish that leaves mineral hints. Tasty, delicate, delicious.

Clean and very bright straw yellow colour with greenish reflections.

In the nose, this wine is fresh and clean. It is marked by the intense notes of white fruit which are released along with some floral notes and hints of citurs. It is a deliciously scented set.
2010 Very good, wide and embracing attack. Fruity and delicious wine, with a glyceric touch and a marked acidity that provides it with freshness. Long finish with a good persistence that leaves nice spicy and minerals aromas. Very fresh, very tasty and very different.

A pale yellow colour with hints of olive green. Very bright and clean.



Aromatic intensity and complexity. The fruit becomes more intense over the time and the notes of citrus and very fleshy and ripe stone fruit dominate the nose. When it opens up, very elegant floral notes are released. All these notes are noticed on a mineral background that becomes increasingly more intense.
2009 Complex, fatty and tasty palate in which its strong acidity is highlighted. Reminiscent of lime and green lemon, this wine has a long finish.
