About Dr. Bürklin Wolf Riesling Ruppertsberger
Dr. Bürklin Wolf Riesling Ruppertsberger is a dry, biodynamic, single-variety Riesling white wine produced by the Dr. Bürklin Wolf winery in Pfalz, Germany.
The Dr. Bürklin Wolf winery dates back to 1597. It is one of the largest and most important estates in Germany and currently has 85 hectares of vineyards in an exceptional area of Mittelhaard. Their philosophy is to make high-quality wines always in harmony with nature. So, in 2001, they began using biodynamic practices across the entire vineyard to ensure that the diversity and depth of each terroir would be reflected and presented as fully as possible in each of their wines.
Dr. Bürklin Wolf Riesling Ruppertsberger is made with clusters from the Ruppertsberger vineyards, which have sandstone and lime soils. The grapes are selected manually and when they reach the winery they are gently pressed. The must is fermented at a controlled temperature in stainless steel tanks and in large wooden vats and the resulting wine is aged for 8 months in large used oak barrels and in stainless steel tanks.
Dr. Bürklin Wolf began to classify his vineyards using the Burgundy system, which states that a specific plot is capable of producing a defined maximum quality, which is determined by many factors such as soil, microclimate and the variety grown on that site. This means that they make high-quality wines that come from a specific terroir, benefitting from the full potential of their vineyards and making Rieslings that are known around the world.

2016 | Dr. Bürklin Wolf Riesling Ruppertsberger 2016 is a wine with intense aromas of tropical fruits and stone fruits. It has a perfect level of minerality and touches of hydrocarbons that are associated with German wines made with Riesling. The palate is silky and elegant, with good acidity. |
