About Domaine Lafage Narassa
Never has an oversight had a better result. After the harvest at Domaine Lafage, they discovered that some overripe grapes with high sugar content had been left on the vine. Even so, they decided to vinify them in the dry wine process, and what came out couldn't have been better! With the passage of time, this mistake virtuously became a practice that has been maintained. Thanks to which, we can now enjoy Domaine Lafage Narassa.
The plots where the miracle of Domaine Lafage Narassa is produced are located in the Côte de Maury, in Languedoc-Roussillon (in the southeast of France). The grenache grapes used in this production process grow on slate and marl. This is exactly the variety that is left to ripen and then blended with a small batch of syrah. The grapes are harvested by hand, in small baskets, selecting the bunches that are at an advanced stage of ripeness.
In general, and to give you an idea, the production of Domaine Lafage Narassa is very similar to the traditional ripassos made in Veneto, in northern Italy. Here, the contact of the must with the skins in long macerations is fundamental. In the case of Domaine Lafage Narassa, maceration will be cold, thus gently extracting both the colour and the nuances of the grenache. Finally, after blending, Domaine Lafage Narassa is aged for several months until it is finally ready for tasting.
Those who have tasted it say that it is a spectacle, forming a club of followers for the wine that remains faithful vintage after vintage. Join us and become part of this select group. We assure you that Domaine Lafage Narassa will not disappoint you.
