About Domaine des Sablonnettes Zeste

In life, we often find ourselves facing decisions that involve taking risks. Difficult choices that, although challenging, are often rewarding. Christine and Joel Menard are living proof that such decisions bring with them an invaluable reward: wines that capture the essence of their terroir and speak of the heart and soul of those who craft them. Located in Maine-et-Loire, in Rablay sur Layon, in Loire (France), they are exceptional winemakers who continuously innovate and experiment on their 13 hectares of vineyards in the heart of the AOC Coteaux du Layon for over thirty years. Today, with their son Jérémy under the name Domaine des Sablonnettes, they produce natural, vibrant, and lively wines with special attention to the star variety chenin.

This is evidenced in Domaine des Sablonnettes Zeste, a white wine made from chenin grapes from 30-year-old vines planted on schist. They work organically, and since 2007 all treatments have been biodynamic. The harvest is manual, and once in the winery, the grapes undergo whole-cluster maceration for a month before being gently pressed. The resulting must ferments and ages in fiberglass. Finally, the finished wine is lightly filtered, minimally sulfured, and bottled.

Integrated into the Vin de France designation to maintain maximum creative freedom, Domaine des Sablonnettes Zeste is a white wine that is precise, lively, and sincere. A 100% activist chenin that advocates for maximum transparency and quality through innovation.
