De Muller Legítim 2021 is a wine with distinct character and personality. On the nose, it reveals intense aromas of ripe black fruits, such as blackberries and plums, complemented by a subtle hint of sweet spices. On the palate, it is concentrated and well-structured, with firm tannins that provide body and a lingering finish. The barrel aging imparts additional complexity, seamlessly integrating its flavours and leaving a lasting and pleasurable sensation.

About De Muller Legítim

De Muller Legítum is a red wine from the Priorat D.O region. It is produced my De Muller, a winery that was founded in 1851 by Don Augusto de Muller and Ruinart de Brimont.

This wine is a blend of 4 grape varieties, Garnacha Tinta (60%), Merlot (20%), Syrah (10%) and Cariñena (10%), which are grown on trellises in vinyards that have a harder soil. The vineyards are situated in the the valle de río Siurana, which lies in Priorat.

The local climate is mediterranean which is characterised by strong changes in temperature between night and day. The cold winds from the north help with the maturing of the grapes.

As for production, the selected grapes are moved to site in order to begin vinification. Fermentation and maceration takes place at 25-28ºC. Maloatic fermentation is then undergone in stainless Steel tanks.

After fermentation, the wine is aged for 12 months in French and American oak barrels.

2021

2020

De Muller Legítim 2020 unfurls an aromatic spectrum where raspberries, cherries, blueberries, and a hint of licorice intertwine with nuances of coconut, vanilla, and macadamia, a legacy of its maturation in oak barrels. On the palate, it introduces itself with a smooth onset, highlighting its velvety tannins and seamlessly integrated acidity. It concludes with a refreshing and subtly minty finish that lingers, beckoning for another taste. This red wine is a concentrated expression of fruit and wood in symphony.
2012 On the palate, it is harmonious, with a warm and enticing richness. The tannins are well-structured. It concludes with a lengthy and pleasing finish.

The wine showcases a cherry-red hue with ruby reflections.

The bouquet is profound and intricate. There are scents of vanilla and roasted nuances, contributed by the aging in French oak, alongside subtle hints of exceedingly ripe red fruits.
2011 An extremely well balanced palate, warming and appetising, rich in tannins but structured with a great variety of flavours (like in the nose). A full, sharp, enjoyable and long-lasting aftertaste. This wine will go well with any type of meat, game and cheese as well as dishes with strong sauces.

An elegant picota cherry colour with ruby tones. This excellent wine is a blend of Garnacha tinta, Merlot, Syrah and Carignan grapes, and its elegant and pronounced tears on the glass show its high alcohol content.

Deep, alluring and complex aroma with rich vanilla and roasted notes from its ageing in French oak, combined with primary and secondary aromas exuding hints of very ripe red fruit.
2009 This is a powerful red wine with a good acidity and intense tannins. Long and persistent finish.

Ruby red colour with ruby/brick-red rims and a high glycerine content.

Strong toasted notes which gradually give way to aromas of ripe red and black fruit followed by spicy notes. A slightly mineral background.
2008 Extremely well-balanced palate, warm and sweet tooth, composition high tannic but well-structured and broad taste and aroma detected.
Aftertaste with a full, sharp, enjoyable and durable, this wine is a good companion for all kinds of meats, game and cheeses as well as dishes with heavy sauces.
