About Cuscó Berga Brut Nature Reserva Premium
Cuscó Berga Brut Nature Reserva is a cava Brut Nature Reserva from the D.O Cava produced by the winery Cuscó Berga. This cava is a blend of 3 different grape varieties: Xarel.lo (60%), Macabeo (20%) and Parellada (20%).
Each grape variety is harvested at a different time, when the respective varieties have reached their desired ripeness. At the winery, the grapes are destemmed and chilled at a temperature of 8ºC to reduce oxidation as much as possible.
The grapes used for Cuscó Berga Brut Nature Reserva are then softly pressed in order to obtain the free-run juice. This is then decanted and chilled in tanks at 6º, where it stays for 24 hours.
The must, once it has been ‘cleaned’, spends three weeks in fermentation tanks at a temperature of 14ºC o 15ºC. After being filtered and stabilised, it is blended.
Selected yeasts, sugar and natural lands are then added upon bottling, causing the second natural fermentation which lasts for 3 months more.
Finally, Cuscó Berga Brut Nature Reserva rests on its lees for 3 years in the bottle before being marketed.
The Cuscó i Esteve family have been dedicated to the production of wine and cava since the end of the 19th century, although it was in 1985 when the family built the current winery. Cuscó Berga is situated in the east of the Penèdes, surrounded by a beautiful landscape full of vineyards.
