About Château Lilian Ladouys

Sight, taste, hearing, smell… and even touch! None of the five senses is overlooked at Château Lilian Ladouys. Regarded as the wine "created by and for connoisseurs," the singular aim of Château Lilian Ladouys is to enrapture the senses and surrender to its allure.

Far more than just a red wine, Château Lilian Ladouys embodies a lifestyle philosophy; a perspective on the world where life is not solely comprised of duties and labour, always leaving room to savour life's simple pleasures. Its proprietor, Jacky Lorenzetti (one of the wealthiest men in France), is well-versed in this philosophy. Amidst his numerous business ventures and work, this entrepreneur, founder of Foncia, has managed to find time for his two passions: rugby and Bordeaux wines. After selling his company, he purchased the legendary Racing 92 rugby club and four Bordeaux châteaus, including Château Lilian Ladouys. It's evident that his fortune is advantageous (undoubtedly), yet the rest of us mortals—with far less wealth—can emulate his approach and find joy in the little things like Château Lilian Ladouys.

Currently, Jacky Lorenzetti is assisted by his daughter Manon Lorenzetti in managing Château Lilian Ladouys. Indeed, from the outset, Manon had a clear vision, committing to organic cultivation in an area situated on the Cos plateau, constantly exposed to the moisture that drifts in directly from the Gironde. The deep layers of clay (which retain water and aid the plants' survival during droughts) and marine limestones (known as Saint-Estèphe) are the other two factors that contribute to the creation of the subtle and elegant wines so characteristic of this region. As for the grape varieties, the 80 hectares of Château Lilian Ladouys are divided among merlot (occupying 50% of the cultivated area), cabernet sauvignon (comprising 45%), petit verdot, and cabernet franc. These varieties, which add complexity and flavor, will respond perfectly to the aging process that Château Lilian Ladouys conducts in wood. This method yields wines that are ideal for any occasion: suitable for being enjoyed young as well as over time. Therein lies the enchantment of Château Lilian Ladouys! Finally, the pre-fermentative cold macerations, gravity-fed racking, and gentle extractions will be key in the crafting of Château Lilian Ladouys.

2024

Château Lilian Ladouys 2024 is a wine that invites you to immerse yourself in the elegance of the Saint-Estèphe terroir. On the nose, you will discover the sweetness and depth of dark fruits such as blackberries and plums, accompanied by a subtle touch of cassis that adds a layer of sophistication. Upon tasting, its moderate body surprises with a supple texture, full of vibrancy and freshness. While it lacks the complexity of more robust previous vintages, it compensates with its lively character and its ability to delight without overwhelming. It is ideal for those seeking an approachable and charming Bordeaux to enjoy on any occasion.

2022

Château Lilian Ladouys 2022 is a concentrated wine that was once affected by hail, ideal for discovering the Merlot variety. Aromas of violets, dark berries, and rose petals pave the way for a fleshy palate with firm tannins. Clove stands out in the finish.
