About Château Lafitte Argile
Although Château Lafitte, a stately home nestled in the village of Monein (Aquitania), dates back to the 14th century, it was not until the estate came into the possession of Philippe and Brigitte Arraou that it truly began to revive the original spirit of the Domain. Drawing upon the philosophical tenets of Rudolf Steiner, they envisaged the estate as a living organism with a unique character, where they produce wine with minimal intervention and a strong conviction.
The wine Château Lafitte Argile originates from this historic estate, which spans 4 hectares of vineyard. These vines of the petit manseng variety are meticulously cultivated by hand, adhering to the standards of organic farming. In the winery, the process is equally natural. Spontaneous fermentation with indigenous yeasts and minimal to no use of sulfites, coupled with aging on its lees in terracotta amphorae.
Thus, Château Lafitte Argile is a testament to an estate with a distinctive character. A character that, despite the passage of many years, its new proprietors have managed to preserve and even enhance.
