About Charles Heidsieck Vintage
Charles Heidsieck Vintage is a sparkling brut made by Charles Heidsieck with the Pinot Noir and Chardonnay varieties in the AOC Champagne, in France.
Of the three wineries that carry the Heidsieck name, Charles Heidsieck is the smallest but also the most prestigious. Founded in 1851, their champagnes have appeared at various important events, like the royal wedding of Prince Charles and Princess Diana. It has now merged with its sister winery Piper-Heidsieck and they work from their new facilities on the southern outskirts of Reims, where they produce some of the most award winning champagnes in the world.
Charles Heidsieck Vintage comes from a meticulous selection of 10 grands and premiers Crus. A cuvée that expresses minerality, intensity and acidity in a spectacular way. The vines are cultivated using traditional agriculture and the harvest is carried out at the optimum point of ripeness.
In the winery, Charles Heidsieck Vintage is vinified using the champenoise method. This is an exceptional blend that undergoes a second fermentation in the bottle with a minimum aging of 10 years on its lees.
True to the pure Charles style, Charles Heidsieck Vintage displays all the elegance of Chardonnay and the structure of Pinot Noir. Wonderful qualities that will only get better over time.
2012 | Charles Heidsieck Vintage 2012 is a creamy red wine with aromas of stone fruit, citrus notes and hints of dried fruit. On the palate it is generous, dense and mineral. A balanced champagne with bright acidity and a long, fresh finish with subtle hints of caramel. |
