About Carlania El Plantarga

Carlania El Plantarga is a natural rosé wine made by Celler Carlania with the Trepat variety in Conca de Barberà (Catalonia).

Carlania is a small family winery built in 2009 in the town of Barberà de la Conca (Tarragona). This is a project focussed on maximum respect for the vine and its vinification. For that reason, they work mainly with the area’s native variety, Trepat, which is ecologically cultivated. Likewise, in the winery the wine is made with minimal intervention and without additives. This means that every bottle is unique and slightly different from the others.

Carlania El Plantarga comes from a 1.5 ha estate lying 410 m above sea level. In the vineyard, they use organic viticulture with biodynamic preparations, powdered sulphur, horsetail infusions and whey. The harvest is carried out manually in 20 kg boxes to ensure that the grapes reach the winery in good condition.

When the Carlania El Plantarga grapes reach the winery, they are cooled and pressed directly to obtain the free-run juice. Then spontaneous fermentation begins with the grape’s native yeasts in stainless steel tanks. No additives are added and it is not filtered or clarified, so the bottles may contain some natural sediment.

Carlania El Plantarga is a natural rosé wine that honestly showcases the Trepat variety. A fresh, light and fruity wine where every bottle is unique.
