About Bruno Rochard Folie des Grains
You have probably heard more than once that dogs resemble their owners. The truth is that some humans, at first glance, have similar features to their pets. And not just in physical attributes, but even in aspects of personality. According to recent scientific and psychological studies, this resemblance is not merely coincidental. It all revolves around the mere exposure effect. That is, it's not that dogs look like their owners from the beginning, but rather both adopt aspects and characteristics as they spend more time together. This hypothesis can be perfectly applied to the relationship that Bruno Rochard has with his wines. A smiling, straightforward, and content winemaker, his wines are truly made in his image. Since inheriting the family winery Domaine de Mirebeau in 1998, located a few kilometres from the iconic village of Anjou in the Loire Valley, he has worked tirelessly to restore the balance of the soils and produce wines that radiate happiness.
In the case of Bruno Rochard Folie des Grains, it is a natural rosé sparkling wine made from the cabernet franc and grolleau varieties. Old vines planted in clay and gravel soils which, through organic and biodynamic practices, yield grapes full of energy. In the winery, the work is done without any additives, following the ancestral method. First, a spontaneous fermentation begins with native yeasts, and when the must is still in process, unfiltered and without any added sugar, it is bottled where it finishes fermenting and develops the carbonation.
Prioritising the utmost respect for living things, the result is Bruno Rochard Folie des Grains, a pure, straightforward, and joyful Pétillant Naturel rosé, mirroring its creator.
