About Bérêche & Fils Rive Gauche

Bérêche & Fils Rive Gauche is an extra-Brut sparkling wine made by Bérêche & Fils with the native Pinot Meunier variety in AOC Champagne, in Champagne (France). 
 
Bérêche & Fils is a family project established on a 9-hectare estate since the 19th century. When the latest generation took over in 2004, they revolutionized the winery. Brothers Raphaël and Vincent Bérêche introduced great changes, as of the best selections of plots in the vineyard and the most natural vinification possible in the cellar. A domaine that has become a reference point in the AOC Champagne and which is based on recovering ancient techniques with awareness and sensitivity.   
 
Bérêche & Fils Rive Gauche came into being on a plot of only 2 hectares. Vines planted in 1969 in the village of Mareuil-le-Port in the Marne Valley, where the soils are a mixture of clay, sandy and calcareous soils. Respectful agriculture is practiced, without systematic treatments and herbicides, and the yield is limited to achieve maximum concentration in the grape.
 
Bérêche & Fils Rive Gauche is a sparkling wine made using the champenoise method. First it ferments in 350 and 600-liter barrels with indigenous yeasts and then it undergoes a second fermentation in the bottle and ages on the lees for 36 months. This is done with a cork stopper to achieve controlled oxidation. Finally it’s disgorged and a low dosage of 3g/l is added. 
 
Bérêche & Fils Rive Gauche is the fruit of the know-how of a new generation. A new concept of champagne based on authentic limited productions according to the natural rhythm of the soil. 
 
2016 Bérêche & Fils Rive Gauche 2016 is a creamy sparkling wine with refined aromas of ripe stone fruit, toasted notes and hints of minerals. On the palate, the attack is flavorsome and with an amazing citrus freshness. An intense, persistent champagne with seductive saline notes.
