About Begali Valpolicella Classico

Three generations have passed through this family winery. It all began when Giordano Begali, after the Second World War, started producing wine in the small village of Cengia, in the heart of Valpolicella Clásica, in Veneto (Italy). By 1986, his son Lorenzo, along with his wife Adriana, released their first bottles for sale, and today, with the collaboration of their children Giordano and Tiliana, they have become one of the region's benchmarks. With 12 hectares between Lake Garda and Verona, spread across hills and foothills, they have not only been awarded by significant guides such as Gambero Rosso, Slow Food, and Wine Spectator, but they are also one of the wineries that are part of the Amarone Historic Families Consortium, an association created in 2009 with the aim of preserving the highest standards of this famous wine from Valpolicella Clásica.

With meticulous production at every stage, they present wines like this Begali Valpolicella Classico, a blend primarily of the indigenous varieties corvina and rondinella with a small contribution from other local red varieties. The cultivation is carried out with the utmost care to respect the natural balance of the terroir. In the winery, the grapes are selected, destemmed, and crushed, and then fermentation is carried out with native yeasts in stainless steel tanks. Finally, it remains in these same containers for 3 months with its lees before bottling.
