What we are sure of, though (depending on the time and the day's events), is that it must have been tough. That's the norm in the life of a functional adult in the midst of the 21st century, right? However, everything has its advantages. And after an exhausting day, nothing and no one can deny you the pleasure of relaxing with a great wine like Barahonda Casa del Capitán Macabeo.
 
The D.O. Yecla, in Murcia, is where Barahonda wineries produce this single-varietal white wine from Macabeo grapes. For over a century, the Candela family has been the custodians of 150 hectares of their own land, which thrive between 400 and 800 meters above sea level. The soils are deep, rich in limestone rocks, and very poor in organic matter, giving the wines a distinct and unmistakable character and profile. And even though D.O. Yecla is Monastrell territory, Macabeo also holds its ground here. And we assure you, it's worth it.
 
As for the production, entirely vegan, Barahonda Casa del Capitán Macabeo stands out as a wine where every detail is carefully tended to: the grapes are selected, the clusters are gently pressed in vertical presses, and the must ferments in stainless steel tanks, where it also undergoes pre-fermentation maceration. Similarly, Barahonda Casa del Capitán Macabeo undergoes malolactic fermentation in French oak barrels, where it will stay for about eight months.
